As strength I think it is very easy for EBAY to make profit because they dont have a cost to their produt due to the fact that they provide a service. Another thing that makes EBAY so powerful is that they don’t really need a great number of staff, so they can be as big as they are (world wide) without hiring many employees. I’d say EBAY’s weakness is the fact that they don’t provide customers with a good customer care service. They lack customer service so that sometimes drives unhappy customers away. Opportunety, as far as that I believe that EBAY is full of opportuneties to just keep expanding to more and more countries and that is always a good thing for a company but in the other hand EBAY’s threat is pretty big, fraud is something that happens daily and EBAY does not take action to stop it or help anyone out against it, they send it over for paypal to fix it instead of them.

EBay’s strength: is the leading global brand for online auctions and it was the first to enter the online customer to customer market. EBay’s weaknesses: the organization works hard to overcome fraud. EBay’s opportunities: acquisitions provide new business strategy opportunities and new and emerging markets provide opportunities (market development). EBay’s threats: as with many of the global internet brands, success attracts competition and attack by illegal practices is a threat for EBay.
One of eBay’s strength would have to be that people can sell pretty much anything giving buyers a wide range of different products they might be looking for. A weakness would be that not everybody buys from the internet and also that fraud is an issue when it comes to individuals selling products they claim to have to other people. Customers most likely will stop buying if fraud takes place. Opportunities for this company would be eBay is a very well known business. Since the site is so popular it will receive many customers willing to buy their products they sell. Threats would involve competition with other sites that are similar to eBay but offer better prices.
I think that one of ebays strengths is that they do not have one specific product, they have millions. You can basically buy or sell anything on ebay. Another strength is that you can rate sellers and buyers and read customers reviews to determine who you want to buy/sell from. A weakness would be that ebay is no longer one of a kind, there are many websites like amazon.com and probably other websites in the future that can copy or show up ebay. Opportunities for ebay is that big companies, like Apple with the iphone or Nintendo with the Wii, only release a limited amount of product and once they sell out people automatically look on ebay to buy them. Ebays threats could be people selling illegal things over the internet.

Weaknesses include that they are susceptible to customers ripping off other customers and eBay getting bad publicity, they also do not make any direct money, they must use only advertisement for their profit. Opportunities are that they can eliminate the hassle for live auctions and become the sole auction service. Threats include rising sites like Cregslist that could take business away from eBay.

This website uses customers relationship with the management by gathering information of the buyer and the seller and registers in the company. One of Ebays weakness is that there is a lot of scams out there that they try to sell fake things to costumers or things that are illegal. Ebay does a bad job on controlling fake or illegal auctions. One of Ebays opportunities that they started to localizing its website all over the world so customers have more options o selling and buying things online. The last thing is threats Ebay is expanding that thieves are taking advantages to pretend to send letters that they come from bay and they try to scam people by telling them to update their information and people do so then they scam people privacy.
I think it’s very easy for EBay to make a good profit due to the fact that they don’t have a product they sell a service and they also do it online making it easier to operate. Their weakness is that they don’t provide that costumer service to address the costumer with a better service. They also don’t have many opportunities because f the type of business they are and their threat is that anyone can start doing what they do!
One of Ebay’s strenghts is that it is a well known online business that offers it’s customers a service with out having to do much themselves. Although this is a Good thing it’s also where their weakness comes in, they lack in customer service and it’s hard to rely on a website where fraud happens constantly. They have a good system to prevent this but sometimes people can get around it and fraud still happens. I don’t shop on Ebay for the fear of buying something that isn’t what was advertised and then have a problem getting refunded etc. Although Ebay has a potential Threat, which is that Fact that fraudulent activity happens through their website, Working with paypal helps because paypal guarantees for their customers what they can not guarantee. I don’t think there is another website as large and well know as Ebay, therefore they have the opportunity to be unique and Stand out. Ebay is continually growing, I would like to have some more security in shopping on Ebay but I don’t think everyone thinks like me.

This has made it possible for Ebay to decrease their rate of fraud on their site. When looking at opportunities for Ebay, the keys main factor is that from here on out they only have the opportunity to grow. Ebay has proved so far to be one of the top main auction sites online today with a estimated 84.4 million users worldwide. Even though Ebay may be so successful, it still has threats. Competition and illegal activity would be 2 of Ebays main threats.
Everybody knows about EBAY wheter your in the USA or China. Having such a popular and successful website available to us at all time makes it easier to recognize the companies strenghts, weaknesses, oppurtunitys and threats. The strenghts would be the companies customers who continuously shop and sell on ebay, thats what makes the company still available. The weaknesses i would say are the cutomer reviews. If your customers are not happy then how can you run such a big buisness without having the support of your customers. Oppurtunitys are always coming and going, in this case Ebay is well recognized and advertised pretty to be getting oppurtinites as a buisness. The threats would definitly be the competition amongst the other companins such as craigs list and amazon. Also when matters get worse and illegal things start happening, this is not good for the site.
Ebay is able to strive as a business because it’s specific list of swot traits. It’s strengths are not having to have an actually location or product. Also the customers can access Ebay’s services from anywhere in the world including their own homes. They also allow their users to be both sellers and buyers, so their website is fully functional to different groups of people. Ebay’s weakness come with the fact that their is no guarantee when I comes to the products and service on their website. People can falsely advertise things on ebay and ebay is held accountable for those things. When people file a complaint, it is will ebay and not the seller of the product. The opportunities that ebay have come in running cost, they don’t have to buy any of the product and they do have to worry about selling the products. They just have to give sellers and buyers a place for their transactions to take place, and ebay takes a percent of the profit. Ebay threats are other companys that model themselves after ebay and then take people away from ebay. They can not promise that their will always be sellers and buyer on their website. Analyzing all these aspects lead me to believe that ebay has many things that could stop them from having a successful business but they have over come these things and become the go to site for buying and selling online goods.

Even though they offer a service they allow third parties to post products that in many ways excel their PR. Their weaknesses, they are very unpersonal since the deals or the service is provided through a web server. They offer many opportunities worldwide, to consumers or potential retailers would be aiding ebay with advertisement. Threats are many and yet more to come. Amazon, google, believe or not is a real threat to ebay, competion will always be there..
