Good luck!
This is a make-up for the last blog that we did, which I missed. After watching both videos of Jim and Suzie, it is very clear that they are both targeting different markets here. Jim is after those who know how to invest and work within the stock market but dont have the greatest handle on things and believe everything that they see on television. Suzie is after those who may or may not have all that great of a handle on their own personal finances. Jim gives very insightful and helpful information, while Suzie tells people what they already know but who just wanted to hear it from someone else. I think that Jim and Suzie are both very useful and resourcful in their own markets, obviously considering that they are currently on television!
This is for the make-for blog for the last bog that we did, that i missed. After watching these both videos both Suzie and Jim are targeting different markets. Cramer provides you with tips about the stock market. He telling you not to trust what people say about the market. Crmaer is the host of NBC’s Mad Money and the co-founder of The Street.com. Suzie Orman target market is personal finance expert. She’s there to help out people who want to buy stuff but need fianical help. She is the host of The suzie Orman show on CBS. But I believe both of there markets are useful in there own way.
MAKE UP OF LAST LAST WEE’S BLOG.
While both shows advise people how to use their money, they do so in different fashions. Cramer, whose voice is often heard loudly around my house, is targeting casual and non-professional investors who attempt some personal investments in their spare time. His show is all about giving stock tips and predictions, alternating between giving his own and giving adive on caller’s and e-mailer’s own picks. Orman’s show, which I am unfamiliar with, seems to be a financial advisory show aimed to help people get a feel for what can and cannot afford. The shows are very informative, and also very different.
Video-Blog week.
I think that Jim Cramer is targeting a group who like to take chances with their money, and Suzi Orman is targeting a group who are very careful with their money and want to make sure they are using it wisely. I like Cramer’s skepticism and his opinions and ideas are very real. He tells it like it is. Orman is similar to him, but her show is not. I thought that by the end of the clip, she would be telling the caller not to buy the swimming pool. I feel like she also likes to take chances. I think what both of these personalities are doing are very good things, just telling it like it is and being very helpful to the people who need a professional opinion.
2ND BLOG MAKE UP
When researching this blog i was listening to the radio and i heard a commercial for a learning system for tweens and young children. With this program children learn math through songs. Through what I’ve learned in marketing class I knew that the younger demographic is the one to go after. Parents who may have money to send or grandparents would buy this program for their children or grandchildren because they want the best for them.
This is a make up BLOG from two weeks ago. I chose the site Google. It started off as a small site to ask some curios questions, and as time went by, it very rapidly grew into what it is today; the biggest and most well known site. Both through word of mouth and advertisement on other sites, Google is continuing to grow in popularity. People rely on Google to answer; questions with homework, finding a job, you name it. Being there for people is a big part of why they are so big. Google can answer questions from; what is the capital of Alabama, to what schools are in your area, to what is Carrie Underwood’s husband’s name. Google has become a very big, very popular, and very reliable phenomenon.
Where to invest my money!
Investing money is very hard, one becasue theres a great amount of risk your taking, and two it takes some luck because the market fluctuates alot. Knowing the amount of risk im sure a individual can make a smart move, I believe in just going for what ever you think will work, also it needs to make sense. I think the wireless industry has alot of money to be made, when you think about what people love the most sometimes love more than there own family is ones cell phone. Investing your money in the cell phone industry wouldnt be bad way to go, because you will always have people who need cell phones, either because they need the next greatest thing or simply because they lost the previous one. Now you also have to think about all the other cell phone providers and store in the market now, if you want to be better than them and make more money than them you must be better than them. Which means you must market better than them and maybe have better plans than the competition as well.
(This is a make up from last weeks blog)
After watching both of the videos i realized Suzie and Jim are targeting two different markets. Jim has useful information for risk takers and people who have the ability to make their own decisions. Jim is selling a dream while Suzie on the other hand is selling a piece of mind. Suzie assists people who cant make up their mind on their own. By steering the conversation Suzie makes them believe they made it on their own. I believe Jim and Suzie have a positive aspect in a political way.

In bear economic times investors need to look for solid companies that can give stable returns without risking all of their money. A good choice for this situation would be Bank of America(BAC) . Many people feel investing in banks is a bad idea because of the recent banking crisis but I feel that makes this a perfect time to invest. In the past month BAC is up over 18% and still rising making it a very hot stock . Competition has greatly decreased due to bank failures leaving the market open for more expansion from large commercial banks such as BAC and Citigroup. As the country makes it’s exit from this recession it’s these banks that will thrive because they will have taken another chunk of the market share , thus making them a stronger company.
Digesting Economic Indicators
The opportunities this economic environment can offer new businesses is a chance to stand out while there is economic hardship. A product or service a new business can offer in this marketplace is something that will catch the consumer’s eye. Currently something that may catch the consumer’s eye is a green product, since a lot of people are trying to be more green. Another product or service that may catch a consumer’s eye is something that will save them money during this hardship.
Where should I invest my money? Redone
In these economic times it is very difficult to really know where to invest ones money, but if I was to invest my money I would invest it in the tobacco industry. I would invest it into the tocacco industry because no matter what kind of economy people always need their tobacoo. It was said from yahoo finance that despite the lawsuits and the health problems there is still something sedutive about tobacco. The tobacco industry is trying to make smoking safer. It was also said that the tobacco industry had a 15% increase in sales (according to yahoo finances). The tobacco industry seems to be a good market to invest in.
This is for the Week of February 15, 2010. Where should I invest my money?
To tell you the truth I really dont know where is a good place to invest your money now in days…but one things that I do know that is never gonna go bad in business is investing in clothes and books because people of all ages enjoy reading books and need to wear clothes at all times…so that my opinion, investing in clothing and books is always a good thing.
After watching the two videos i believe that Jim and Suzie are both very helpful in their own ways. Suzie is out there helping people make fianacial disicion based on there income. In other words just telling people wheather they are able to afford someting or not. Jim however is targeting the group of people that work and have to do with the stock market, letting them know not to always believe everything and telling them how the stock market really works.

A good product and service that a new business can offer this market place it would opening a store that has a variety of ornaments for wedding, birthday, graduation, baptism, baby shower, sweet 15. I want to open a place that offer this ornaments that are decorated by adding more things like ribbons and other things that would make it look nice. I would sell it a good price not a high price because people would not buy it. It would be a good idea because all this events happen almost every week.I think it would offer jobs opportunities to other people and it wold succeed in this bad economic.
Digesting Economic Indicators
With the unemployment rate up to ten percent, Americans need to find ways to save money on their major investments. Aside from a home, a person’s next biggest investment is their car; which is their main source of transportation to get to and from work. In order to maintain a car and keep it running smoothly for years, regular scheduled maintenance (such as an oil change) is required. There are several businesses that can change a car’s oil, including the dealership, independent garages, oil change shops, or other mechanic organizations, but none of them actually go to a person’s house to do the work. An oil change service where “we come to you” would be a great investment for people who work throughout the week, and would like to relax during the weekend. Not only will a scheduled at-home oil change save consumers some time, but also save one of their largest investments for many years.
With the economy hurting badly, and spending dropping, I think the businesses that succeed the best need to keep up with current trends. With so many new types of social media like twitter, youtube and facebook, people are becoming more creative and can reach more people than ever before. In one of my other classes, we recently took a field trip to the Hill Holliday company in Boston, which is a prestigious and successful advertising agency. They recently lead a campaign for Chili’s, which introduced a rival restaurant named P.J. Bland’s. The campaign was widely successful, and it also implemented use of twitter and youtube, documented well in Scott Lackey’s “The New Advertising” blog. I think creativity like this could really help drooping sales and implementing new sales tactics with new media can only help a business.
*THIS IS FOR LAST WEEKS BLOG*
After watching and analyzing both videos, you can clearly see that Suzie and Kramer target different markets. Suzie sells common sense, piece of mind. People who seek Suzie know already whatever it is that she is going to tell them, they just want re-assurance. Kramer sells success, piece of dream. Kramer gives good advice for people who know what they want. Both Suzie and Kramer can be very helpful to each different group of people they target. That is why they have their own show on TV and many people seek them for advice.
I would most likely invest in the vending machine business, after doing the research this would be a wise investment. The cost to maintain the machines themselves is low, and they can always be updated with the currant products. Vending machines can be placed just about any where, and they continue to bring in profit. So this would be a wise choice for myself to invest in this business.
This is a makeup for the week of February 15, 2010. Where should I invest my money?
With the economy being in it’s low current position it is a very difficult time to decide on where to invest your money. If your looking to invest you have to think about what market of people will still spend during this economy. The answer to that is the Baby Boomer and the Tween generations who, no matter what the state of the economy, spend more than any other generation. So while I may not be able to tell you a specific kind of business to invest your money, I can tell you that you should invest in a business whose target market is either the Baby Boomers or the Tween generations.
Amazon Blog:
Amazon makes money by giving out coupons and by advertising. After ebay, amazon is the only site you can trust and as books are really expensive, people can get books cheaper and at a reasonable price. As to order at Amazon, people have to create an account and they will send coupons and discounts to buy again from them at cheaper prices. Some Sites also have the advertising for Amazon which makes it popular among people. As customers reviews makes it special too and they can leave the comments and people can judge them from the comments. Amazon also offers the Credit card and which makes people to go there to buy things to earn points.
A friend of mine told me about Roth IRA’s ,I found the concept interesting and decided to researgh it for this blog,an IRA( individual retirement arrangement) is in actuality a mutual fund, there are some eligability requirements mandated by the IRA, like income requirements but, they are not anything above middle class, still making them available to a variety of people, the main thing that makes them appealing are the tax exemptions, there are great benefits including being able to withdraw tax free at any time, without penalty. In conclusiion after research, Roth IRA’s are a tax friendly almost risk free way to invest your money for retirement.
Apple’s revenues have continued to grow over the past 10 years from about $5 billion in 2001 to over $40 billion in 2009. Their gross profits have also continued to grow during the past decade, more than doubling from $8.2 billion in 2007 to over $17 billion in 2009. The company seems to be financed more by equity than debt. Their last 3 year’s current liabilities were $9.1 billion in 2007, $11.4 billion in 2008, and $11.5 billion in 2009. Their last 3 year’s owner’s equity was $14.5 billion in 2007, $22.3 billion in 2008 and $31.6 billion in 2009. Apple is doing extremely well both as a company and for their investors.
Apple has a vast array of markets that it reaches out to. One target is music lovers. Over the past couple of years the internet has made music share very easy. Ipods have become huge as well as its counterpart Itunes. Another target is all the Technology buffs out there. From Ipods to Iphones to Ipads, Apple is leading they way in everyday technology. Walter S. Mossberg from the Wall Steet Journal reports that Mac technology has more advantages to that of PCs. Tech people lean towards Macs because its hardware is more reliable and less likely to be attacked by viruses due to that fact that most viruses are made for windows. Apple will continue to grow because of the generations coming out with a new craving for new technology and Apple leading the way.
You don’t have to look too far to find available commercial space for large, mid-sized or small business around Massachusetts. Just drive along route 128 or the 1-495 corridor and you will see the signs for available space. Ranging from lab facilities to ready to go managed office space, tenants have choices and power.
Look into Cummings Properties, a well known commercial landlord in Massachusetts. Find out their vacany rates today and company them to prior years rates. How do rents per square foot and size per tenant vary depending on location and type of space (lab vs. ready to go office space, etc)? What kind of opportunities does this market offer commercial tenants? And therefore, what kind of promotional strategies can commercial landlord use to attract and retain tenants.
This a make-up blog for the week of March 15, 2010 – Let’s take a look at Local Commercial Real State.
Cumming Properties is a large commercial real state company in Massachusetts. In their website we can see the different spaces they offer: office, medical, executive office, retail, laboratory and distribution facilities; each one of these in different listings depending on location and the target market. However, it is difficult to find out the exact price they have for each facility. But overall labs and medical spaces range at a more expensive rate than other facilities.
Make up: Where should I invest my Money?
In the current market, investors are, and should be, worried. Although there is indication of the recession dying down, things like the high unemployment rate make it very difficult to tell. After reading through fox news, I think a good company to place money in is Proctor & Gamble. They sell products all across the world; P & G is made up of many brands that you can’t avoid using every day. For instance, tide and downy. Also, they sell scope, vicks, pringles, braun, burberry, and many other brands that are sold all over. Yahoo finance reporting the dow jones for P & G shows that today they closed at 62.68, which is .52 positive. Proctor and Gamble has been doing well in the market and I think it is because they sell products with huge needs even during a recession.
Amazon Blog Make-up:
Finding Amazon’s EPS for the last three years was a lot harder to actually find than I thought, but I stayed with it and got the right information, I think. Amazon’s EPS (Earnings per Share) for the last three years has increased in 2008 the EPS was $1.52, in 2009 it was $2.04 and the projected EPS for 2010 is $2.91 (businessweek.com). One of Amazon’s competitor’s is eBay. EBay EPS for the last three years decreased in 2008 the EPS was $1.71, in 2009 it was $1.58 and the projected EPS for 2010 is $1.66 (businessweek.com). As a result, I would have to say by the information that I have provided that Amazon is looking better than its competitor eBay. =MGMBoston=
Make up blog for the Real estate:
It is very benifial for a business to own its own property becuase they are in control of all the expenses. meaning everything they do to better the property is theres not the landowners and there is no risk of being kicked out of a building or the rates changing on you because your business is successful. plus all of the money a business spends on leasing a building they could be puting into there own property were they could then sell it and possiblly make a profit.
“Lets take a look at commercial real estate”
Cummings Property has a different approach to real estate. According their website they don’t take rent every month like normal leasing agencies, they charge per square foot, which actually seems more reasonable. Depending on what kind of space (lab or office space for ex.) that the client wants, space starts at $7.70 per square foot and goes up for higher end properties such as labs. Also for their residential retirement communities (that are non-profit) they charge a non-refundable $300 application fee along with $2k (refundable) to hold your place on the waiting list then after you go through a series of assesments and further waiting time you pay a one time fully refundable 50K to live there. This market has a lot of opportunites for expansion. In these hard times there are a lot of empty buildings that Cummings could purchase and refurbish(they also do their own contracting). They also have a guarantee for business tenants that they will help them gain more space if need or let them leave for a bigger space with no penalties which helps keep loyalty to the company. They could also have a recomendation program for their tenants.
I’ve already posted my blog about the my choice of investment in franchise. It was in a healtier fast food restaurant by name with”zion…” I can’t remember exactly. But this has to offer meals with mostly good combination of a complete rich food, with veggies, tasty and can please children. Before that, I posted that, I’d like to open a new business to fight again child obesity. I’m suprised that I can’t find none of those blogs. I don’t what went wrong. That is why is still open.
Lets Take a Look at Commercial Real Estate
Cummings Properties is not like any other real estate. Just to apply to become a tenant you need to get in a waiting list. A thing I found out about them that I thought was pretty unique was the fact that they charge by the sq/ft rather then regular renting. Ready-to-go offices are pretty expensive and the prices vary depending on the location. You can tell just by looking at their website how organized and big they are. They are in 10 cities around MA and they have different pages suting each location. They could maybe offer 1 free month and no deposit to attract tenants, and to retain tenants tenants they could maybe offer early events as a form of gathering the tenants and discuss of things to do to improve their living and society.
Lets Take a Look at Commercial Real Estate
the house crisis is still down, however the interest rates might rise again then consumer will hold back on buying. the tax credit has met it’s deadline, so consumer cannot use that money.
let talk apple
apple is the the number one product right now in the market ! it has many product for any aged group. however the apple product for tv are slow in picking up the pace. however i would n’t buy an apple because i love my pc and mp3 players devices.
For the Make up blog, I want to talk about the Cummings park properties located in a few places. One is very close to my home in Woburn i work right across the street from where it is located. Cummings properties is huge they always have space available for small buisnesses to rent and although i heard from many people its expensive to rent out for some small buisness owners. Enspecially because of the bad economy buisness are not doing well and everyone is looking for a decent price. Cummings properties has spread out as the company has grown, they are building new areas in marlbourough.
By looking at apples prices they target mid to higher income families that are able to afford it. The products they produce target most people because they are able to help most age groups with everday tasks. For business people most their products help organize daily task. They prodive music to the consumers personal choices. They also have a wide choice of apps for consumers even made by consumers to help with possible programs they missed.
When examining apple products and their prices we can see that they apeal to a specific group of people. Their products apeal to innovators who want to have the newest in the market. Their prices appeal to Higher and middle class because of the fact that you really do need to be able to afford an apple product. Their products provide simplicity as well as innovation. Perhaps their greatest success is the iphone which appeals to such a large number of people because of the vast amount of apps that can be downloaded onto the phone. they also offer great costumer support that really makes you feel like you are being taken care of.
