The most highly successful fundraising for non-profits are golf tournaments... they are best for organizations that are trying to raise 10,000 +, the work is the same for 10,000 or 100,000 so anything less than 10,000 is a waste of time and energy. Golf has a very specific market. and the process and networking opportunities are endless. I have had some experience in negotiating fees for the use of golf clubs and creating sponsorship form corporations. that is where the money is... I have gone through several websites and blogs. The following is by far the most detailed and realistic posting to prepare for a golf outing.

This is easily the best fundraising that I ever did, We raised over $75,000 for a school for the deaf. and it was totally run by volunteers

Since everyone is so worried about the economy, everyone needs a peaceful break. Listening to music is my favorite thing to do when i am sad. I think it would be a great way to raise some money for the non-profit organization by doing some kinds of street performance with music. We can ask some volunteers who are talented and willing to perform. We can sell lunch(different kinds of food) and drinks near the performance, so people are full and entertained at the same time. Location is important. We need to find a place where people often pass by. Of course, we have to do some advertisement in order to let people be aware of the event. Hopefully, we can help people relax and raise money. We can play international songs and performance. I am sure people will like it.

Since an actual golf tournament might be too expensive, golf skill competitions at a local driving range could be held. Such events would be longest drive, closest to the pin, chip and putt and so on. Each person will have to contribute according to the goals set forth.

A fundraising car wash is always a good way to raise money. Ive taken part in many team car-washes and they always seem to do pretty well. Its a simple formula just charge $10 per car and have a bunch of people with hoses and sponges. Its fun for everyone involved and provides a good service for a good cause. If you pick a good parking lot at a busy intersection and combine that with a sunny day a car wash can be an excellent way to raise funds and have some fun along the way. Advertising helps too, the pretty girl on the corner holding a sign isn't going to cut it. We'd need to post signs throughout the area pointing patrons with a grimey vehicle in the right direction. We can even try to sell raffles or convince them to get their car waxed as well to try and make even more money.

i believe a block party would be a great idea. It could include bake sales, BBQs, arts and crafts tables and performers. They could have a talent show or sports tournament and charge a low fee to join. I remember going to a block party where they charged $3.00 for a bucket of ballons and had a huge water baloon fight right on the neighborhood baseball field. They did it according to age groups starting with the youngest kids and working there way up to the adults (who loved it by the way!!) There was also relay races, horseshoes and baseball games which anyone was allowed to join. Auctions can also be done and many local buisnesses are more than happy to donate gift certs for a little promotion.

A great way to raise money would be to take people around the local area and have them bring other members of the family or community and have a contest. Not just any contest, but like a karaoke contest. Also we can have them contribute like 3 bucks a person. If the does not work out then we should make wrist bands indicating what we are doing. However, we target the young people at local schools and sporting events because they would be the ones to let mommy and daddy know what is going on and what we are trying to do. The more people the money. Also we can have most people contribute their thoughts on how we can raise more money.

A way to successfully raise money would perhaps be a "Field Day" in a local downtown area. The main concept would be a whole bunch of games such as vollyball, frisbee, soccer or any other team building games going on. It would be a small fee per game, with prizes for each winning team. There would be raffels which would also raise money, and free drink and snacks to lure the people in. With a invitation to also invite a friend, i think many people would look forward to a day in the sun with free food, games prizes and friends.

I think a nice way to raise money for a good cause and have it be successful is by targeting the right audience. I personally know many people who loves their pets, I believe a pet walk is a great idea. Have people pay a small fee to participate and have big name vendors such as PETCO etc set up tents offering discounted prices on products and services, also gromers veterinary clinics, offering their services. Vendors will be attracted to the idea of potential sales, participants will be thrilled to get great deals on their pet care needs and the opportunity for their pets to enjoy a day outdoors

I think a great way to raise money is a silent auction. I have been to a few for my friends who have had bad injuries and the money went to their families to try to pay for the medical bills. Usually our whole town gets together and everyone brings something to be auctioned off. Everyone knows its for a good cause so they usually do extremely well. They are fun as well and people always donate food and beverages for everyone. I think this would be a great idea!

A great way to raise money is to have small local fair. People can have tables and sell their craft items or whatever. You can sell food & drinks which always make a good profit. Have items donated and have a raffle. Churches & Schools do fairs like all the time in the winter, but to have one in the summer would be great as well.
